I see that the Skirrid has been mentioned further up the thread. I've been there twice (well actually three times but once it was shut as it was Monday and they don't open - I ask you, in the middle of summer with prospective customers queued up outside!) Anyway I digress!
I have never felt anything untoward at the Skirrid - although I have not been "upstairs"...so far
Earlier this year I went to the Cornhill Inn at Rhayader. As soon as I walked through the door I was overwhelmed with the feeling of deja vu although I know I have never been there before.
to the left of the main bar is a lovely unspoilt dusty little stone-walled room with quarry tiled floor, and beautiful old cast-iron woodburner, basket of logs and pile of newspapers. I was so drawn to this room yet I cannot explain why. We sat in this little room for a couple of hours enjoying the beer and the wonderful atmosphere.
We don't have a digital camera but my husband can take photos with his phone and I asked him to take a photo of the fireplace for me. He tried several times but just got a blank screen.
I then asked him to hand me the phone, and just before I clicked to take a picture I sent out a little thought, "please let me take a picture of your fireplace"....and my picture came out perfectly...!
When I got home I looked up the pub on the Internet, to find it on a "Haunted Pubs" website.

Hi Lindsay,
Would you like to contribute this story to the official supernatural database? All you need to do is go to the SWPR webste - www.swpr.co.uk , enter by clicking on the logo, click on Research Projects, then Supernatural Database. It should tell you what you need to do from there!

Guybrush: What do you know about lifting voodoo curses? Murray: Oh sure. I know a lot about lifting curses. That’s why I'm a disembodied talking skull, hanging on a spike, in the middle of a swamp! Guybrush: You sound bitter. Murray: I’m sorry, it’s been a rough day.
